FAQ

Questions, answered before you have to ask

If yours isn’t here, ask it on the first call. It’s what the call is for.

Why flat fees instead of hourly billing?

Because a family under strain shouldn’t have to choose between asking a question and paying for groceries. You know the whole price before you start.

What does a flat fee not cover?

Anything paid to someone else: court filing fees, service, mediators, evaluators, home studies and appraisals. Each fee lists its own exclusions.

What if the case changes halfway?

We tell you what changed and quote the next part as a flat fee before doing it. Nothing new is billed without your written yes.

Do you only work by video?

Mostly. We meet by video and sign documents electronically or by mail. When a court needs you in person, your lawyer is there with you.

Can I speak Spanish with my lawyer?

With Consuelo Galarza, yes, and Yadira Quiroga, who schedules every meeting, speaks Spanish too. If another lawyer has your case, one of them joins the calls.

What should I have ready for the first call?

The county where you or the children live, any court papers you’ve received, and a rough idea of what you and the other side agree on.

Do you handle protective orders?

No. If you’re in danger, call 911. For a protective order, the county attorney’s office or a local family violence center can help you, often at no cost. Use the Quick exit button to leave this site fast.

Do you take cases outside Fort Worth?

Yes, anywhere in the state where our lawyers are admitted. Most of our clients never visit the office.

Still have a question?

Ask it on a 30-minute video call, in English or Spanish.
